Our History & Mission
In 2016, Performing Artist Catherine Glynn founded A.R.T. with the mission of gathering artists from all walks of life, paying them a living wage, and teaching devised theater-making. Encouraging balance between creating new work and recreating within the beauty of Southeastern Minnesota.

Audacious Raw Theater was born of Catherine Glynn's own creative chaos in 2016. Blending her years of experience as a performer, educator, and devised theater-maker, she formed a multi-year initiative and partnership with Lanesboro Arts to foster the development of new theatrical works and teach performers the innovative art of devising.

By strengthening and honing each participant's voice, listening, validating their stories, and building consensus, we aim to uplift ALL voices through the power of ART. A.R.T. promises to provide a safe, equitable space and pay for people of any race, gender, or belief system to explore and create.

Having been taught by Masters like Robert Wilson, Tadashi Suzuki, Jewel Walker, the Rude Mechs, Ann Bogart & SITI Company (Saratoga International Theater Institute), the Tectonic Theatre Project, Collaboraction, and Sushi Dance Studio, and receiving MFAs from The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Delaware's PTTP, Catherine is devoted to passing theatrical skills on to future generations so that they may prevail and continue revolutionizing the theatrical form/norm.
